About Us

Our aim at Zen Panther is to promote stillness, grace, and inner strength. Many people these days are absorbed in technological paths and try to resolve themselves through internet therapy, mindfulness apps, and various other technological tricks and hacks. For the serious spiritual seeker, this often doesn't work, particularly when obstacles of a psychological nature come up from the past.

We hope to build a bridge between the new ways and the old ways. The best way is to study at the feet of a genuine spiritual master. Most people do not make the effort nor have the connections these days. So if we can be of help for a while on your journey to freedom from suffering and recognizing your profound inner nature, we would be delighted.

Most of the profits that we make support spiritual Buddhist projects and people in Asia so they can practice their meditation, do academic translation work, and prayers for the sake of world peace. We're not perfect, but the teaching is.

BIO

Erik Passig has been meditating and practising Buddha-Dharma since the mid 1980s. He moved from Germany to the UK at the age of 20 to work in a Buddhist community and subsequently trained as a psychotherapist, gaining a Masters degree in Core Process Psychotherapy from Middlesex University through the Karuna Institute. He was a practising UKCP registered psychotherapist for more than 20 years in London working with everyone from murderers, monks to porn stars. During that time he also taught meditation and Buddhist psychology in several Buddhist centres. Erik set up his own mindfulness meditation training organisation, Mindworks, in 2012 in London. Erik also practices and teaches Qi Gong following the Hua Gong tradition.

In 2014 Judith Cummins found the spiritual path after attending a mindfulness course. Soon after she gave up her corporate and senior civil service career to pursue Buddhism full-time and was trained as a mindfulness and meditation teacher by Erik. She subsequently became a fully qualified mindfulness teacher with the UK Mindfulness Association and is certified to deliver their Mindfulness Based Living Course. Judith joined Erik at Mindworks in 2016 and has taught mindfulness in a wide range of corporate and public sector organisations. She has degrees in both Business Studies and Art History.

At the beginning of 2018 Judith and Erik decided to focus on deepening their own spiritual practice and went on pilgrimage to the holy land of Bodhgaya in India. They spent the next eight years primarily on pilgrimage in India and Nepal. They stayed in monasteries; studied at the feet of some of the greatest contemporary masters of all the Tibetan Buddhist schools; spent time in deep retreat in the foothills of the Himalayas; and taught English to young monks. They also lived in semi-retreat in the Italian mountains for several months a year. During covid they returned to the UK and spent that time continuing their inner pilgrimage with long periods of meditation and Buddhist study. At the end of the covid period Erik spent a year in strict solitary retreat in mountains. Then they returned to Asia to continue deepening our practice and learning.

"We continue to be based in London Richmond and occasionally in Germany and are using everything that we have learnt and practiced to help others pursue their own spiritual path. Our aim is to help you to fulfil your spiritual potential by getting deeply in touch with your innermost nature aided by authentic Buddhist teachings, QiGong and the stream of blessings of the great masters of the Buddhist tradition."
